Continuing Education

This year we are offering up to 15 Continuing Education Credits!

Each year, IHA provides continuing education credits for conference attendees.
Credits are available in the following categories:

  • CHES/MCHES (Category 1 Continuing Education Contact Hours) from NCHEC, Provider #SEP4631
  • CME’s from Loma Linda University School of Medicine who is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
  • CEs from The California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP# 11933
  • CEs from The Medical Library Association
  • CPH Recertification Credits from National Board of Public Health Examiners


Accreditation

Certified Health Education Specialists

Sponsored by (Institute for Healthcare Advancement), a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc, this webinar is designated for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) and/or Master Certified Health Education Specialists (MCHES) to receive up to 15 total Category I continuing education contact hours. California Nurses

Institute for Healthcare Advancement is a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP# 11933, for up to 15 contact hours.

  • As a result of attending this conference, attendees will be able to evaluate patient/client education program(s) to determine if health literacy solutions would be appropriate.
  • As a result of attending this conference, attendees will be able to demonstrate the importance of using health literacy practices to the meet needs of my organization and/or target population.

How to Apply for Continuing Education (CE) Credits

Here is how you can obtain your CE credits:

California Nurses

Please indicate that you are seeking CA nursing credits when you register for the conference. At the conference, you must sign-in and sign-out each day you attend. After the conference, you will receive an email with a link to an evaluation form that you must submit in order to receive credits. We will email your attendance certificate, which you need to send directly to the California Board of Registered Nursing to receive CEUs. Keep this certificate for 4 years after the conference in case you are audited by the California Board of Registered Nurses.

Certified Public Health Professionals

When you register for the conference, please indicate that you are seeking CPH credits. At the conference you must sign-in and sign-out of each day you attend. After the conference, you will receive an email with a link to an evaluation form. You must submit a completed evaluation form in order to receive credits. We will also send you your attendance certificate via email. You must self-report your time on the CPH Recertification and Reporting System portal.

Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES/MCHES)

When you register for the conference, please indicate your degree as MCHES/CHES and enter your license number. At the conference you must sign-in and sign-out of each day you attend. After the conference, you will receive an email with a link to an evaluation form. You must submit a completed evaluation form in order to receive credits. We will also send you your attendance certificate via email. We will report your category 1 units directly to the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.

Librarians

Make sure to indicate on your registration form that you are seeking MLA CE credit. At the conference, you must sign-in and sign-out each day you attend. After the conference, you must complete 2 evaluations to receive credit. You will receive an email with a link to the conference evaluation form after the conclusion of the conference. Once we receive your conference evaluation, we will give you the enrollment code to complete a course evaluation and claim our MLA CE certificate through MEDLIB_ED. Please note that you must complete this evaluation within 30 days from when the conference ends.

Physicians

When you register for the conference, please indicate that you are seeking CME’s and enter your license number. At the conference you must sign-in and sign-out of each day you attend. After the conference, you will receive an email with a link to an evaluation form. You must submit a completed evaluation form in order to receive credits. We will also send you your attendance certificate via email. We will report your credits directly to Loma Linda University School of Medicine who is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

Other Healthcare Professionals

Non-physician healthcare professionals who complete an accredited activity will receive a certificate of attendance. You may submit this certificate to your own credentialing board (dieticians, pharmacy, etc.) to see if you can obtain transferable CEUs from your board.
